What an INCREDIBLE Day! |
|
32ND ANNUAL
GOLF FUNDRAISER |
|
The Nottawasaga Foundation's 32nd Annual Golf Tournament & Fundraiser hosted 123 golfers and raised over $280,000 during the one-day event thanks to our generous sponsors! This brings the total amount raised in the history of the event to more than $7.8 Million Dollars.
"Once again, we are humbled by the generosity and support from our sponsors, participants and volunteers" said board member and tournament organizer, Paul Wratten. "It is an amazing feeling to know that so many people in the community support The Nottawasaga Foundation and our ongoing initiatives."
This extraordinary event wouldn't be at all possible without the generous contributions and support from all the sponsors, participants and of course the volunteers. Thank you to everyone involved and the entire community for helping to ensure the continued success of this annual fundraiser event. We look forward to seeing the funds raised at this year's tournament make a positive contribution towards so many worthwhile local charitable groups and programs in Simcoe County. |

IT ALL
STARTED
ON A BET: |
|
|
"After the bridge was completed and named Cable Bridge, a very good friend of mine bet me one bottle of Canadian Club Whiskey that I would be incapable of acquiring a liquor license in this township of Tecumseth, which had been dry since 1907. I took the bet and went to work to get a petition signed for the liquor plebiscite. It took six months to gain enough names to make my petition valid. In November 1967, the plebiscite came about for the liquor license. We were successful with a very high majority. Within a few weeks after a favourable election, the construction of the Nottawasaga Inn commenced. It took eight months to the unofficial opening of the Inn with the wedding of my wife’s brother Carmelo and his bride Eva, which was scheduled for September 28, 1968."

AT WORK IN THE COMMUNITY |
|
The Nottawasaga Foundation is proud to support many community charities by funds raised in our one-day tournament to benefit the lives of people in our area.
Although the needs change yearly, in addition to the Hospital, we divide our support among three key pillars that align with the Nottawasaga Foundation values of health, family and offering a helping hand. |
