Policies
Our hotel policies page will provide you with all of the information you will need when planning a stay with us as well as our privacy policy which details our commitment to protecting the privacy and confidentiality of the personal information of our guests.
Guest Conduct
- Guests are asked not to gather in the hallways as this often creates excessive noise which disturbs other guests.
- Keep guest room doors closed at all times to avoid noise disturbances.
- Each room is limited to the number of guests registered in the room at the time of
check in. - Your own alcohol is only permitted in guest bedrooms and is prohibited in all other areas of the hotel including, but not limited to: hallways, lobbies, recreation centre, golf course and food & beverage outlets.
- The Nottawasaga Resort is a smoke free facility. The smoking of tobacco, cannabis and vaping are strictly prohibited in all public spaces including conference rooms, reception areas, restrooms, hallways, stairwells, balconies and guest rooms, as well as patios and the pool deck. Any violations will result in an additional charge of $500. Failure to comply may result in a fine for offenders and possible expulsion from the premises.
- Consumption of food and beverages not purchased from the hotel is limited to your guest room only.
- Preparation of food in guest rooms by any type of cooking appliances, barbeques, or burners is strictly prohibited.
- Guests are responsible for any pay movies or music charges. We do not give refunds on these services.
- Only registered hotel guests may access the Sports & LeisureDome amenities. A guest fee will apply for non-registered guests.
- Should housekeeping find any rooms damaged, in any way, the hotel will charge the credit card responsible for the room for all damages and/or cleanup fees.
- All early departures will be charged the full room rate for all nights reserved.
- Persons caught throwing items down stairwells or off the balconies will be evicted.
- Camping is not permitted on hotel property.
- Pets are not permitted on hotel property.
If a complaint occurs due to the negligence of those occupying a guest room, disorderly conduct, unlawful activities, or repeated noise complaints, the offending guests may be evicted and/or receive additional charges to their account. If a guest is evicted, they are not entitled to any refund. If damages occur to the guest room or other areas of the hotel, the cost of the damage will be charged to the credit card registered upon check-in.
Check-In
Check-in is anytime after 4:00 pm. Each guest must check-in at the Front Desk, provide a credit card for incidental charges, and complete the required registration form.
Check-Out
Check-out is 11:00 am. We require each guest to check-out individually at the Front Desk. An express check-out feature is available through the pay movie system. See instructions in guest room for more details. If you wish, the Front Desk will assist in reviewing your Account.
Policies / Room Rate
- *Room Only rate is valid from May 1 to October 31, subject to applicable tax and availability.
- All room rates are subject to a resort fee.
- A surcharge may be applicable for March, Summer Break and December.
- Rates are based on Single or Double occupancy.
- Minimum 2 night booking on Saturdays unless otherwise noted.
- An additional charge is applicable per guest, per room, per night, unless otherwise noted.
- You must be 18 years or older to rent a room.
Children
- Parents and guardians are personally and legally responsible for children at all times. Please do not leave children unattended in guest rooms or anywhere on resort property.
- Children 16 and under sleep free in the guestroom with existing bedding.
- Children 3 and under sleep free.
- For health and safety reasons, all children under the age of 18 must be signed in by a parent or guardian prior to initial entry to the pool level. All children under 16 years must be accompanied by an adult in order to gain access to the swimming pool. Children under 16 are not allowed in the fitness room. Please inquire at the Sports & Leisure Dome regarding age & ability restrictions for additional facility use.
- Roller shoes, rollerblades and skateboards are not permitted in the hotel.
- No games (mini-sticks, etc.) are to be played in any area of the hotel.
Dining
Please note that during certain times of the year, and based on occupancy levels, some of the dining rooms may or may not be open. Buffets may be substituted for menu items or menus may be offered instead of buffets.
During Christmas Break, March Break and select holidays, dinner may be from a Buffet only, in the Riverview or Crystal Ballroom. The Riverview Dining Room is not always open for breakfast, lunch and dinners.
A smart casual dress code is in effect in the Mahogany Room: collared shirts, preferred. No shorts, jeans, sandals or running shoes.
Internet Access
Please note standard internet service is complimentary with room purchase and suitable for emailing and social networking. Please note that guestroom Wi-Fi is not meant for streaming large media files, watching movies or gaming.

Cancellation Policy for Individuals: Reservations for individual travel made online may only be cancelled or changed by calling Guest Services at 800-669-5501. Please have your reservation number available. A $25 administrative fee will be charged for all changed reservations. Should your travel plans change, we will gladly rebook your getaway. If you need to cancel, you will be refunded the reservation amount less the administrative fee if you cancel your stay up to 72 hours prior to check in time on the date of arrival for personal travel bookings. If your plans change within 72 hours of arrival, please call and we will try to rebook your trip for different dates. Please note that your reservation will be subject to the administrative fee and the best rates available on your new date range for the same length of stay. If we are unable to re-book your stay, your reservation is non-refundable. New Year's Eve reservations are non-refundable.
Cancellation / Modification for Groups: Reservations for group bookings, including corporate, wedding and sports groups are subject to a negotiated cancellation policy that was provided to you at the time of booking and ranges from 7-30 days notice. Cancellations and modifications are not available through the online reservation site. Please contact the Group Booking Department for details of your particular booking at 800-669-5501.
Please Note: Special requests will be noted at time of booking and will be accommodated whenever possible; however we cannot guarantee these arrangements or room locations. The Nottawasaga Resort is a non-smoking facility. Pets are not permitted.
If you would like to include additional services during your visit that require advanced booking, including restaurant reservations, golf tee times and massage appointments, please contact Guest Services at 800-669-5501 prior to arrival to ensure availability.

Cancellation Policy: Golf bookings made online may only be cancelled or changed by calling the Golf Pro Shop. Your reservation may be cancelled up to 24 hours prior to arrival. If you should cancel within 24 hours of your arrival or fail to show up for your scheduled tee off time, the full booking amount with be deemed non-refundable. For season pass holders and twilight ticket packages, cancelling within 24 hours of your arrival or failing to show up for your scheduled tee off time will negatively effect future privileges.

Please arrive 15 minutes prior to treatment. Late arrival will affect treatment duration.
What to Expect: When you come in for your first massage, you will be required to fill out a health history form that we will use to make up a treatment plan for you, so please arrive 15 minutes prior to your appointment to allow time to fill out this information.
Your comfort is of great importance. You are not required to take off any clothing; however, massage is most effective when it is performed directly on skin. You are covered at all times aside from the area being treated at the time. At no time will you be exposed.
You are in control at all times during your treatment. If you ever want to alter your treatment or stop the massage, you need only ask. You may ask questions any time regarding your treatment. All treatments are performed by specifically-trained Registered Massage Therapists and are covered in many healthcare policies.
Massage treatments include pool and whirlpool access immediately following your appointment with towel service. Please note that Gift Certificates and treatments redeemed with Gift Certificates are not eligible to be submitted to an insurance provider.
Cancellation Policy: All cancellations require 48 hours notice and must be made by calling the Sports Desk at 705-435-5502. Do not respond to this email. Cancellations made within 48 hours are subject for the full payment of the treatment which will be charged to your credit card. Changes to the time or service can be made with the same therapist but are subject to availability.

Privacy, Use of Personal Information
The Nottawasaga Resort is committed to protecting the privacy and confidentiality of the personal information of our guests.
The information has been collected directly from you, either from information supplied while making the reservation, information supplied through a previous stay and retrieved from guest history, or from providing the information upon check-in.
The personal information collected from you is saved in a guest history database. Whenever you make a reservation online or phone in to make a reservation, this information is available to the Guest Services agent. . Guest history also tells us other information from your previous stays (date, type of room, package, etc.). This information enables the resort to better meet your personal preferences from previous stays. The Nottawasaga Resort will not sell or share your personal information to others.
Use of Site
The services of this site are available only to individuals who can form legally binding contracts under applicable law, and thus, are not available to minors. By using this site, you represent that you are of sufficient legal age to use this site and to create binding legal obligations for any liability you may incur as a result of the use of this site. You also warrant that you are legally authorized to make the travel reservations and/or purchases for either yourself or for another person for whom you are authorized to act.
This site is to be used by you for your personal use only. Commercial uses of this site are strictly prohibited unless prior written consent from the Nottawasaga Resort has been granted. You agree that you will not use this site for chain letters, junk mail, "spamming", solicitations (commercial or non-commercial) or bulk communications of any kind including but not limited to distribution lists to any person who has not given specific permission to be included in such a list. You agree that you will not use any robot, spider, other automatic device or manual process to monitor or copy the site or any contents or information contained therein. In addition, you agree not to create a hypertext link from any web site controlled by you or otherwise, to this site without the express written permission of Nottawasaga Resort. You agree not to pretend to be any other person or a representative of any entity, whether actual or fictitious, including an employee or agent of the Nottawasaga Resort or any third party that provides services related to this site.
You may only use this site to make legitimate reservations or purchases and shall not use this site for any other purposes, including without limitation, to make any speculative, false or fraudulent reservations, or any reservation in anticipation of demand.
Passwords
Our site provides you with the ability to use usernames and passwords to gain access to certain portions of our site. You acknowledge and agree that you are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your information and passwords, and accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account or password. Nottawasaga Resort takes no responsibility and assumes no liability for any content posted or submitted by you or any users of your account. We reserve the right to immediately terminate your account in our sole discretion and without prior notice to you wherever there is a reason, including, for example, if you violate any part of these Terms of Use.
Advertising Disclosure, Accuracy
Information presented may contain technical inaccuracies and typographic errors or omissions, including but not limited to inaccuracies relating to pricing or availability applicable to your transaction. The Nottawasaga Resort does not assume responsibility or liability for any such inaccuracies. Advertised prices and available quantities are subject to change without notice. Nottawasaga Resort reserves the right to make changes, corrections, cancellations and/or improvements to the site, and to the products and programs described in such information, at any time without notice, including after confirmation of transaction.
Miscommunication / Lost Transactions
Nottawasaga Resort and any other providers of products or services related to this site are not responsible for communication malfunctions, failures, or difficulties, or lost, stolen, or misdirected, transmissions, messages or entries, or the security of any such communications. Further, Nottawasaga Resort and any other providers of products or services related to this site are not responsible for incorrect or inaccurate entry information, whether caused by user(s) or by any of the equipment or programming associated with the site, or by any technical or human error that may occur in the processing of any information related to the site. Nottawasaga Resort and any other providers of products or services related to this site may cancel or modify reservations where it appears that a user has engaged in fraudulent or inappropriate activity or under other circumstances where it appears that the reservations contain or resulted from a mistake or error.
You agree that neither Nottawasaga Resort nor any other providers of products or services related to this site are responsible for any damages that may arise as a result of any travel or hotel arrangements or other orders you request or make on this site which are not processed or accepted for any reason.
Personal Information, Credit Card Information
YOU AGREE THAT NEITHER THE NOTTAWASAGA RESORT NOR ANY OTHER PROVIDERS OF PRODUCTS OR SERVICES RELATED TO THIS SITE ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR LIABLE IN ANY WAY FOR INJURY, LOSS OR DAMAGE TO YOUR COMPUTER, OR INTERCEPTION OR USE OF CREDIT CARD INFORMATION OR OTHER PERSONALLY IDENTIFIABLE INFORMATION RELATED TO OR RESULTING FROM USE OF THE SITE OR ANY SITES LINKED OR ASSOCIATED WITH THIS SITE.
NOTTAWASAGA RESORT MAKES NO WARRANTY OR REPRESENTATION REGARDING OF CONFIDENTIALITY OF COMMUNICATION OR INFORMATION TRANSMITTED ON THIS SITE OR ANY WEB SITE LINKED TO THIS SITE. Property Reservations General Terms
A credit card is required for all reservations made via NottawasagaResort.com and full payment is due at time of reservation. For your protection, the reservation processing is handled by a secure server that encrypts your credit card.
Reservations made by one or more individuals or by an agency on the site, on behalf of one or more proposed guests, and involving more than nine (9) rooms for the same period of stay, must be directly through the our Group Bookings department at 800-669-5501. If more than nine (9) rooms for the same period of stay are booked through any other method, Nottawasaga Resort reserves the right to cancel or impose additional requirements on such reservations.
Group rates, including corporate and wedding, and access to room blocks are not available through our online reservation site. Please contact our Group Bookings department at 800-669-5501 for applicable rates.
Special requests will be noted at time of booking and will be accommodated whenever possible. We try our best to ensure that you receive the room type and bed type as reserved; however room assignment is done on the day of arrival and is based on availability. We cannot guarantee these arrangements or room locations.
Cancelling / Changing an Online Reservation
Guarantee and deposit are required at the time of reservation. Please ask about our cancellation policies when making your reservation. Nottawasaga Inn Resort is not responsible for any package components or recreation opportunities made unavailable due to weather or any circumstance beyond our control. Some pre-booking limitations on usage may apply. Please inquire about facility hours, age and waterslide restrictions, pay-as-you-play activities, equipment rentals, etc. at the Sports & LeisureDome.

Severability
These Terms shall be deemed severable. In the event that any provision is determined to be unenforceable or invalid, such provision shall nonetheless be enforced to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, and such determination shall not affect the validity and enforceability of any other remaining provisions.
Attorney's Fees
If Nottawasaga Resort takes any action to enforce this Agreement, Nottawasaga Resort will be entitled to recover from you, and you agree to pay, all reasonable and necessary attorney's fees and any cost of litigation, in addition to any other relief, at law or in equity, to which Nottawasaga Resort may be entitled.
Modification
Nottawasaga Resort may at any time modify these Terms, and your continued use of this site will be conditioned upon the terms and conditions in force at the time of your use. Accordingly, you agree to review these Terms periodically, and your continued access, use and/or posting on this site shall be deemed your acceptance of the changed Terms.
Limitation of Liability
IN NO EVENT SHALL NOTTAWASAGA RESORT, ITS AGENTS, REPRESENTATIVES OR LICENSORS BE LIABLE TO YOU OR ANY OTHER PARTY FOR ANY LOSS OR INJURY OR ANY DAMAGES, EITHER DIRECT, INDIRECT, PUNITIVE, SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR OTHERWISE (INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOST PROFITS OR LOST SAVINGS) RESULTING FROM OR IN ANY WAY CONNECTED TO:(1) YOUR USE OF THIS SITE; (B) ANY FAILURE OR DELAY (INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE ANY COMPONENT OF THIS SITE FOR RESERVATIONS OR TICKETING); OR (C) THE PERFORMANCE OR NON PERFORMANCE BY NOTTAWASAGA RESORT OR ANY THIRD PARTY PROVIDERS OF PRODUCTS OR SERVICES RELATED TO THIS SITE; EVEN IF SUCH PARTY HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF DAMAGES TO SUCH PARTIES. THIS LIMITATION OF LIABILITY SHALL APPLY REGARDLESS OF WHETHER THE CLAIM ASSERTED IS BASED ON CONTRACT, NEGLIGENCE, OR ANY OTHER THEORY OF RECOVERY.
The Nottawasaga Resort cannot be responsible for loss or damages to any samples, displays, properties or personal effects brought to the Resort for the purpose of your functions. Resort is not liable for any injury to any participants in any activities or in any way whatsoever, with respect to their meetings, functions or activities. In the event that any damage occurs to the Resort’s furniture, fixtures, building, or equipment caused by installation, presence, and/or removal of exhibits and exhibit materials, or the negligence of the group’s delegates, [Organization] shall reimburse the Resort for the cost of repairs such or replacement as may be necessary.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of consequential or incidental damages, so some of the foregoing exclusions may not apply to you. YOU HEREBY WAIVE ANY AND ALL CLAIMS AGAINST NOTTAWASAGA RESORT, ITS AGENTS, REPRESENTATIVES AND LICENSORS ARISING OUT OF, OR IN ANY WAY CONNECTED TO YOUR USE OF THE SITE AND/OR ANY RELATED PRODUCTS OR SERVICES.
IN THE EVENT NOTTAWASAGA RESORT IS HELD LIABLE FOR ANY DAMAGES RELATED TO THIS SITE, YOUR SOLE AND EXCLUSIVE REMEDY WILL BE LIMITED TO REIMBURSEMENT OF THE CHARGES FOR SERVICES OR PRODUCTS PAID BY YOU THAT WERE NOT PROVIDED TO YOU.
YOU HEREBY WAIVE ANY AND ALL RIGHTS TO BRING ANY CLAIM OR ACTION RELATED TO THIS SITE BEYOND ONE (1) YEAR AFTER THE FIRST OCCURRENCE OF THE KIND OF ACT, EVENT, CONDITION OR OMISSION UPON WHICH SUCH CLAIM OR ACTION IS BASED.
We offer all services necessary for a successful meeting, however, if you find it necessary to use outside services, any companies, firms, agencies, individuals and groups hired by or on behalf of your group shall be subject to our prior approval. Upon prior reasonable notice to us from you, we shall cooperate with such contractors and provide them with facilities at the premises to the extent that the use and occupancy of the facilities by the contractor does not interfere with the use and enjoyment of the premises by other guests and members of the Hotel. We must be notified in advance of any proposed vendor. We reserve the right to advance approval of all specifications, including electrical requirements, from all outside contractors, and to charge a fee for outside services brought into the resort. Your outside contractors must comply with all other similar requirements we deem appropriate, in our sole discretion, regarding use of function space, facilities and use of Hotel services including adherence to the Occupational Health & Safety Act (OSHA).
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold Nottawasaga Resort and its subsidiaries, affiliates, officers, directors, agents and employees harmless from any claim or demand, including reasonable attorney's fees, made by any third party due to or arising out of your breach of this agreement or the documents it incorporates by reference, or your violation of any law or the rights of a third party. Nottawasaga Resort's failure to act with respect to a breach by you or others does not waive its right to act with respect to subsequent or similar breaches.
Governing Law
Any disputes arising out of or related to the site shall be governed by and construed and enforced in accordance with, the laws of the Province of Ontario applicable to contracts entered into and to be performed entirely within the Province of Ontario. Use of this site is unauthorized in any jurisdiction that does not give effect to all provisions of these Terms, including, without limitation this paragraph. All disputes which cannot be resolved between the parties, and causes of action arising out of or connected with the Site, shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action.
Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with those incorporated herein or referred to herein (including, without limitation, the Nottawasaga Resort Online Privacy Statement) constitute the entire agreement between us relating to the subject matter hereof, and supersedes any prior understandings or agreements (whether oral or written) regarding the subject matter, and may not be amended or modified except in writing or by making such amendments or modifications available on this site.
Purpose
Nottawasaga Resort is committed to providing quality services to all persons we serve, including persons with disabilities such as those with visual, hearing, cognitive or motor impairments. Accessibility aligns with our vision statement “To be a dynamic world-class destination committed to service excellence and continuous improvement - creating a quality experience for everyone!”
In fulfilling our vision statement we are committed at all times to provide our goods and services in a way that respects the dignity and independence of people with disabilities. We are committed to giving people with disabilities the same opportunity to access our goods and services and allow them to benefit from the same services, in the same place and a similar way as other guests.
Scope
This statement of Policy and procedure applies to every person who deals with members of the public or other third parties on behalf of the Nottawasaga Inn Resort, whether the person does so as an employee, contractor, volunteer or otherwise.
Policy
Nottawasaga Inn Resort is committed to excellence in serving all guests including people with disabilities.
- Assistive Devices. We will ensure that our staff are trained and familiar with various assistive devices that may be used by guests with disabilities while accessing our goods and services.
- Communication. We will communicate with people with disabilities in ways that take into account their disabilities.
- Service Animals. We welcome people with disabilities and their service animals. Service animals are allowed on our premises that are open to the public.
- Support Persons. A person with a disability who is accompanied by a support person will be allowed to have that person accompany them on our premises. Please note: if at any time an admission fee is charged at Nottawasaga Inn Resort this fee shall also be applicable to a ‘support person’ accompanying the person(s) with disabilities. Guest will be informed of this by a notice that will be posted on our premises and here on our website.
- Notice of Temporary Disruption. In the event of a planned or unexpected disruption to services or facilities for customers with disabilities, Nottawasaga Inn Resort will notify guests promptly. This clearly posted notice will include information about the reason for the disruption, its anticipated length of time and a description of alternative facilities or services if available. The notice will be placed at the main entrance and all service counters on our premises.
- Training For Staff. Nottawasaga Inn Resort will provide training to employees, volunteers and others who deal with the public or other third parties on their behalf. Individuals in the following positions will be trained: Managers and Supervisors, Security, Food + Beverage Servers and Bartenders, Front desk staffs, Recreation staff etc. This training will be provided to staff during their first two weeks of service as part of their departmental orientation.
Training includes:
- An overview of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 and the requirements of the customer service standards.
- Nottawasaga Inn Resort’s policies, practices and procedures relating to the customer service standards.
- How to interact and communicate with people with various types of disabilities.
- How to interact with people with disabilities who use an assistive device or require the assistance of a service animal or a support person.
- How to use the wheelchairs available on site or otherwise that may help with providing goods or services to people with disabilities.
- What to do if a person with a disability is having difficulty in accessing Nottawasaga Inn Resort’s goods and services.
- Staff will also be trained on an ongoing basis when changes are made to these polices and procedures.
- An overview of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 and the requirements of the customer service standards.
- Feedback Process. The goal of Nottawasaga Inn Resort is to meet and exceed guest expectations while serving guests with disabilities. Comments on our services regarding how well those expectations are being met are welcome and appreciated. Feedback regarding the way Nottawasaga Inn Resort provides goods and service to people with disabilities can be made by email, verbally or guest comment cards. All feedback will be directed to the Front Office manager. Guests can expect to hear feedback within 10 business days.
- Modification to This or Other Policies. We are committed to developing guest service policies that respect and promote the dignity and independence of people with disabilities. Therefore this policy will be reviewed and amended as required.

Children under 16 years of age are not permitted to use the fitness centre. Children over the age of 16 years of age must be accompanied and supervised by a parent or guardian, who is at least 18 years of age.
Hotel guests may sign in outside guests into the Sports & LeisureDome fitness & pool areas. Up to 15 years of age is a $5 guest fee each, 16 years of age and over is $10 each. A guest registration form must be filled out and payment for the guest fees will be done at the Sports Desk.
Please arrive 15 minutes prior to treatment. Late arrival will affect treatment duration.
All cancellations require 48 hours notice. Cancellations made within 48 hours are subject for the full payment of the treatment. Changes to the time or service can be made with the same therapist but are subject to availability.
Cancelling / Changing an Online Reservation
Guarantee and deposit are required at the time of reservation. Please ask about our cancellation policies when making your reservation. Nottawasaga Inn Resort is not responsible for any package components or recreation opportunities made unavailable due to weather or any circumstance beyond our control. Some pre-booking limitations on usage may apply. Please inquire about facility hours, age and waterslide restrictions, pay-as-you-play activities, equipment rentals, etc. at the Sports & LeisureDome.
Reservations made online may only be cancelled or changed by calling Guest Services at 800-669-5501. Please ensure that you have your reservation number available. A $25 administrative fee will be charged for all modified/changed reservations.
Should for any reason your travel plans change, whether it be due to bad weather, a family member's sickness or one of life's unexpected surprises, we will gladly rebook your getaway. If you need to cancel your reservation, you will be refunded the reservation amount less the administrative fee so long as you cancel your stay up to 72 hours prior to check in time on the date of arrival. If your plans change at the last minute (or anywhere within 72 hours of arrival), please call us and we will try to rebook your trip for different dates. Please note that your reservation will be subject to the administrative fee and the best rates available on your new date range for the same length of stay. If we are unable to re-book your stay, your reservation is non-refundable.
Check-In
Check-in is anytime after 4:00 pm. Each guest must check-in at the Front Desk, provide a credit card imprint or cash deposit for incidental charges, and complete the required registration form.
Check-Out
Check-out is 11:00 am. We require each guest to check-out individually at the Front Desk. Express check-out feature is available through the pay movie system. See instructions in guest room for more details. If you wish, the Front Desk department will assist in reviewing your Account.

What information are we obtaining from you?
When you register at the front desk, you are asked to supply the following required information: Last Name, First Name, and Address (business or personal). We also ask that you supply the following additional information: Make of Vehicle and Plate Number (if you drove here), how you are paying for your stay, and, if you are paying by cash or debit card, your Drivers Licence number.
Why we are obtaining this information from you?
The Hotel Registration of Guests Act (R.S.O. 1990, Chapter H.17 , s.2 states that “A register shall be kept in every hotel in which shall be entered the name and usual place of residence of every person admitted as a guest in the hotel and occupying a room therein alone or with another person”. We also ask for your make of vehicle and plate number (in case of an accident in the parking lot), payment method (we required payment in full or guarantee of payment (credit card) prior to check in), and, in the case of cash or debit payment, your Drivers Licence number.
How we obtained your personal information.
The information has been collected directly from you, either from information supplied while making the reservation, information supplied through a previous stay and retrieved from guest history, or from providing the information upon check-in.
What we do with your personal information.
The personal information collected from you is saved in a guest history database. Whenever you phone in to make a reservation, this information is available to the reservation clerk. This helps speed up the time it takes to make your reservation. Guest history also tells us other information from your previous stays (date, type of room, package, etc.). This information enables the hotel to better meet your personal preferences from previous stays. From time to time, the Nottawasaga Inn will mail out information on specials to guests who have stayed at the hotel in the past. The use and disclosure of your personal information is limited to within our business. The Nottawasaga Inn does not use third party services for mailing and we do not sell or share your personal information to others.
How long will we keep your personal information?
We maintain a guest history database. Within this database are the names, addresses, and other personal information. This information is maintained indefinitely. If you wish your personal information to be removed, you must contact the hotel by mail, phone, fax, or e-mail and your information will be purged within 7 days. Please note that if you make future bookings at the hotel, your new information will be kept until your advise us as per the procedure noted above.
We will protect your personal information.
Your information is used only by hotel employee with appropriate access. The information is stored in a database that requires proper authentication to access. Printed information is not kept and any personal information that is printed is disposed of using appropriate safeguards (shredding).
Your right to access your personal information.
You can, with satisfactory verification, be provided with your personal information held in our files. There are certain legal exceptions to your right of access and should your request fall into such a category, you will be informed of the reason.
Can I withdraw my personal consent after I have signed the registration card?
You may withdraw this consent at any time by notice to the Designated Privacy Officer of the Nottawasaga Inn Limited by mail at 6015 Highway 89, Alliston, ON L9R 1A4 or by phone at 705-435-5501 or by fax at 705-435-5840, or by e-mail at Privacy, and such notice will be effective within 7 days following receipt.
